Billings: The 10 story Northern Hotel will close its doors forever and turned over to court trustees on Friday, September 8, 2006. At around 8 a.m., attorneys filed papers to convert the hotel's restructuring bankruptcy into a liquidation bankruptcy. Soon after, the hotel stopped operating as a business.Management authority and the keys were turned over to court trustee Joe Womack, a Billings attorney. He also could abandon the property, and that move kicks it out of bankruptcy protection. Then the investors can foreclose and the hotel would sell to the highest bidder within 120 days.
