Fire at Torre Espacio

Madrid's current tallest building, Torre Espacio, suffered a fire yesterday night. The fire broke out just before midnight at the 44th floor, the last constructed floor so far, and quickly reached the 43rd. The building is under construction, and nobody was inside at the time of the fire. The tower will reach 223 metres divided in 56 floors, and it is yet to be topped out.It took three hours to extinguise the fire, and it was visible from adjacent areas. Curiously, at that time, a celebration was being held at the nearby Plaza Castilla, where hundreds of people were celebrating the recent victory of the Spanish Team in Japan's Basketball World Cup.
