Twin Towers for Buenos Aires waterscape

Not one, but two towers have been proposed for the waterfront of the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires. The two towers may not provide the highest mark of architectural iconicity but they certainly add to the sudden boom of highrise development in the region. It has been calculated that 188 new towers are under construction alone and many proposed/ approved. By 2016, the city skyline will be rivalled by the very few such as New York, Shanghai and Dubai.

However, the skyline is being criticised. Architects and residents alike are complaining that the quality of architecture dominating the city is poor and provides little aesthetic pleasability. Architects to grace the city include Cesar Pelli.

Give this city time and a chance and maybe something worth calling "fantastic" will appear and then this city will be put on the architectural map.
