Highrise planned for Manhattan

A tower measuring 267 metres or 876 feet in height has been proposed for Beekman Street in New York. The ultramodern building with a design that is completely unique to the city, will be the tallest City Hall structure in New York and will be taller than the nearby Woolworth Building. Early reports indicated that the tower would be taller than the structures at Ground Zero however the newly revealed height has silenced these reports.

With 75 floors, will have design in which the floors below will not be the exact same size as the one above. This due to a tapreed design which appears to ripple up the building. The design is by Gehry, and is receiving mixed reports. The design shows remarkable similarities to the ruins of the World Trade Center towers which were destroyed in a terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.
