First stage of Gravesend Regeneration revealed
The first stage of an ambitious town centre regeneration of the Thames gateway town of Gravesend has been revealed. The development includes 130 apartments and 18 family houses of which a quarter are affordable rented dwellings. Lord Street's former car park is replaced by a whole city block of 108 apartments set around a raised landscaped courtyard, with new commercial units at ground level. The southern development includes a new square, terraced town houses for sale and an oval six storey block of flats. Client: Gravesham Borough Council, Barratts Eastern CountiesArea 12,500m². The news comes almost one year after Edinburgh House, a private developer, sold the Thamesgate Shopping Centre for £22 million. The money raised from the sale will be invested in a new scheme to transform the town centre.
